The great outdoors, the nationals, or officially the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, whatever you are going to call it presents the fastest motocross racers in the country over a twelve race series. Beginning in California May. The championship includes stops at the some of the motocross racing facilities in the United States including stops in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Washington, New York, Maryland, and Indiana.
After a long supercross season of 17 rounds over 18 weeks, many would think the outdoors, with only 12 rounds would be easier, but you would be WRONG! The heat and humidity of the summer and longer 30 minutes plus 2 laps motos take their toll on both racer and machine.
For the NJ Motocrosser or fan, there are 4 rounds within a 5-hour drive of central New Jersey. High Point and Southwick in June and Unadilla and Budd’s Creek in August are all an easy weekend trip. And now with the addition of amateur days to all rounds, you can compete on the same track, on the same weekend as the stars of the motocross.
